Re: Error with notification count

A thought has just popped into my head - I live in Sheffield, I am going into the city centre sometime today. I could always put the .HAR file on a pendrive and visit The Balance?

Re: Error with notification count

Hi @jab1,

Thanks for trying to email that to me.  Its a pity but I am not overly surprised, our email spam protection safeguards can be quite strict.

Do you have any online storage accounts like MS Onedrive or dropbox?  If you could save it to your Cloud and then create a shared link and send me that I would be able to access it.  Going into our Sheffield office may be an option but Matt, my boss, doesn't work from the office full time and I don't believe he is in the office today so the Cloud solution would be the fastest.

Let me know if this is possible, and if not then I will see what else we can do.

Cheers

Sean

Re: Error with notification count

Sorry, @SeanD As I don't trust Cloud solutions, I don't have any and it is that long since I used Dropbox (when it didn't try to grab everything) it would be a steep relearning curve.

The 'call-in' option would honestly be my best - if not today, I can usually find sometime other days - one of the joys of being retired!

Re: Error with notification count

Hi @jab1,

No problem at all, I understand.  Let me have a chat with Matt and check his availability at the office.  Ill get back to you shortly.

Cheers

Re: Error with notification count

@jab1

couple of thoughts, changing the file extension name might work to say .TXT (it can be renamed back to .HAR before viewing) or maybe compressing the file using zip

Good thinking @Dan_the_Van . I'll have a try when I've finished a little job elsewhere. 👍

Re: Error with notification count

Sounds like a similar problem I had when trying to send a file as a gmail attachment to my brother. No matter if I zipped or rared it, or changed the file extension, it was rejected every time. I ended up taking it on a memory stick on my next visit to him.

Re: Error with notification count

Hi @jab1,

Unfortunately, the option of you dropping a pen drive off at our office will not work.  The reason for this is that our internal security will not allow us to use an external drive on company equipment ☹️

If the idea that @Dan_the_Van has suggested, does not work then maybe you try sending the file to me to another email address might work.  The spam protections on the BT domain are quite strict but let me PM you with an alternative address and you can try that.

Cheers

Re: Error with notification count

OK @SeanD , but I suspect it is the sending server (Plusnets) that is causing the error (see the rejection report from earlier).

Neither of @Dan_the_Van 's options worked, BTW.

Re: Error with notification count

Thanks @jab1,

Do you use a Gmail, or Outlook email address by any chance or any other free web service?  I am sorry for all the hassle but a fault report won't get far without this file.

Re: Error with notification count

No hassle, @SeanD . I do have  rarely used gmail or yahoo accounts - if they are still alive. Can try both if you like, but to which address, please?

Re: Error with notification count

Thank you John,

Please try sending it to communityforum@bt.com and if that fails, try any of the other 2 addresses I included in my message.

Cheers

Re: Error with notification count

Hi @jab1,

Thank you for your perseverance in getting the .HAR file sent to me, I received this successfully.

I have now raised a support ticket to Khoros and have asked them to investigate.  I will update you once I hear back from them.

Cheers

Sean
