Community signup using Outlook/live.co.uk email address

Hi all,

A few weeks ago I tried to sign up for an account using my @live.co.uk email address but the verification email never arrived! I tweeted PlusNet and they were just as confused.

I tried using an alias (an @outlook.com) and that didn't work either!

I get my regular PlusNet billing emails to my @live.co.uk email address fine!

I've now signed up using my work email address (which is gmail based) which isn't really ideal.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance all!

Re: Community signup using Outlook/live.co.uk email address

@James_B

This is likely to be connected to the bulk sender grey listing issues we’ve seen in respect of the user email space for plus.com.

Does the community email space have the correct SPF / DKIM settings?  Is email sent from the community email senders address sent via Plusnet’s SMPT server or via the vendor’s SMPT server?

Does the vendor inspect and manage email non-delivery reports?

@Townman

For info, I've just inspected the source of a recent community email notification

It is sent from the vendors mail server but does have valid SPF , DKIM and a one-click unsubscribe header!

There would appear no reason for it not being accepted

Use the Webmail for Outlook/live.co.uk and see if the conformation email ended up in a Spam / Junk folder.

@MisterW

Is there a DMARC policy?  One wonders if there’s a disconnect on the reply to address?

@rjpholliday

Can you post the email headers, being sure to redact your email address.

Re: Community signup using Outlook/live.co.uk email address

@Townman I cant see a DMARC header but that could be because it wasnt required to be considered ( SPF & DKIM both pass )

You could be right on the reply-to (envelope-from) disconnect , headers below

Re: Community signup using Outlook/live.co.uk email address

@Townman - Yes, community emails are handled by the vendor.

@rjpholliday - Could you see any emails in your junk/spam? If not, please reply to my private message and I'll be happy to look into it for you.
