Becoming a "Mod"?

Purely out of interest, how are the moderators appointed to the fora? Presumably they were initially volunteers but how is their status decided? I'm only asking because I'm nosy & I am certainly not qualified to undertake such a time consuming & worthwhile task.

Jim and I were 'elected' - that's how mods used to be appointed - Strat was press ganged into it.

Re: Becoming a "Mod"?

Here's a link to an early call for new moderators.  I believe the structure is still fundamentally the same, though occasional well merited short cuts may be taken.

Thanks guys for the prompt response. Most interesting. At least I meet 2 of the criteria, by virtue of age  Embarrassed & length of time with Plusnet. Roll_eyes

Go to create a new PM and click Find Members. Key "adiewoo" and then click search.
I've never understood why it does that!
