Re: Ambiguous notifications count

Hi @James_B

For the benefit of others following this thread, thank you for the PM advising that the vendor is digging further into the issue.

I have replied to the PM.  I am wondering if this post might change the count I see from ...

Re: Ambiguous notifications count

Predictably, it did...

There are 58 of one (or more) type(s) of notification now not being counted.

Is the time stamp on the previous post "near enough" for the vender as requested in the PM?

Time zone is UK / London / BST.

Re: Ambiguous notifications count

Refreshing at 5 minute intervals since the above post has not seen the count to return to 101 ... perhaps it needs to be left a while longer?

Re: Ambiguous notifications count

Now 17:36..

At sometime in the last 48 minutes, the higher count was "restored"...

Please advise on further evidence I can gather on this reproducible issue ... or arrange a diagnostic session with the vendor so that they can query the servers, see a high count, and then I make a post ... and they can re-query the servers.

Re: Ambiguous notifications count

@James_B

Nudge!

Were the vendors able to do anything useful with the information requested?

I think it fair to state, that as things are at present, this issue is dependably demonstrable on my account.

Re: Ambiguous notifications count

@James_B

Has there been any updates on this issue please?

You did advise that a repair was anticipated this month.  Until a few minutes ago, I saw no change.  Subsequent to a few minutes ago, the issue looked  the same as reported, however on liking a post, the count has dropped to 2 (PMs), as though I had visited the notification page.  I have not.

Logging in on another device whilst typing this reports 103 notifications, so the issue is session related / connected.  I will wait to see what happens here and report back.

Re: Ambiguous notifications count

...having made the above post, the count reported in this session is now 48+2

Re: Ambiguous notifications count

Hi @Townman,

The community version with the fix hasn't been released from the staging environment yet - I'll let you know as soon as I receive confirmation it's live.

Re: Ambiguous notifications count

... and for reassurance that this service is BUA ... the count has returned to 101+2 = 103.

So another example of the aberrant behaviour seen and reported previously.  Would be nice if the vender can time correlate the event to any systems maintenance or house keeping activity.

... and this post set it back to 50+2 !!!
