I sincerely doubt it - have you got computer-literate youngsters?

Re: site blocking

OK. I seem to recall a couple of similar queries recently, and I thought the issue had been resolved.

@Townman  / @MisterW  - any clues?

I started typing a reply to the OP @jab1 but then I re-read the post.

ICBW, but due to the lack of punctuation I initially thought the same as I think you did, i.e. that the OP wanted to block porn, but I then realised s/he might want to access porn sites and is enquiring why the blocking is happening.

Re: site blocking

Having re-read the OP, @RobPN , I see what you mean - clarification from @Ianh64  is needed.

Re: site blocking

There are two levels of blocking - user selected by setting parental / content control (somewhere in the user portal / member centre) and generic BT blocking to very unsavoury content.

Re: site blocking

@Ianh64  Your opening post is very unclear, it suggests that could be using Plusnet safeguard, which you probably don't want or need. So try disabling that and see if you can access the sites you are having trouble with, however as @Townman has said there could be other higher level blocking going on.

Re: site blocking

Aplogies poor grammar. I do want to watch porn.
And before a few days ago was able. I have not changed any settings but when I look at safeguarding it is off however when I look at the blocked subjects list porn is blocked I switch that off go away and when I return it’s back on again

Re: site blocking

Safeguarding is implemented by changing the DNS servers assigned to the router. If safeguarding is getting switched on again then you would have seen a change of DNS servers. What are the DNS servers your router is using?

Re: site blocking

Look at the router administration page. The connection status will show the DNS servers assigned.

Re: site blocking

@Townman

Unless of course the Plusnet DNS servers are being over-ridden in the device settings. Maybe a third party block?.

Re: site blocking

@Ianh64

They are the standard DNS servers, not the safeguarding DNS servers.  Therefore as @Baldrick1 hinted, you must have some other safeguarding service on your device ... possibly AV software or other safe surfing technology ... OR what you are trying to look at has some higher 'authority' block.
