Thanks for those, Linda - they are strongly suggesting a fault. Would be interesting and informative to see the Hub data and results of phone-line test, too.

The quiet line test was ok,

I can`t find this on the home screen `

For the Hub Two -

Navigate from the Home Screen to Advanced Settings > Technical Log > Information

Thanks for that Linda. It is good to find someone who asks for help and then helps us to help them. From that last bit of info, I'm 99% confident there is a fault on the OpenReach network, so suggest you initially report it via https://www.plus.net/help/report-a-problem/

If it comes back and says there isn't a fault, let us know and further advice can be given, but I'm confident it will suggest getting OR out.

Not that this helps with the immediate problem but have you checked recently to see if there are any OR plans for your area. Put your post code in www.openreach.com

 

Given you speeds and the fact the Scottish government is spending public money of superfast broadband you might be in their plans.

Thanks Brian I’ll ask them. 
The last time open reach were here the guy advised me to try EE. I’m still in contract with Plusnet for 9 months but to be honest I’m so fed up I’d be happy to pay to get out

Linda - don't listen to 'suggestions' like that. The fault you have would follow you to EE.

Given your speeds, changing ISP probably wouldn't make a difference.

 

OR engineers may not know OR plans - see if the website says anything.

Well I was on the phone to bt and he did something to the router. There had apparently been an outage locally a couple of days ago and it can take a while to adjust at the router. Amazingly it seems ok! I haven`t tried netflix yet, that is the true test.

I will let you know how it goes during the next few days.
