Re: Random Wi-Fi Disconnects Now Permanent

Hi Dan & Townman

Been online a handful of times this week. Mostly connected ok though it did drop off after a few minutes on Monday evening.

This afternoon though it will just not connect and having to connect through phone again.

Logged into the router event log on phone and can see a few 'BLOCK' lines in there.

Are these likely to be relevant at all?

Thanks again.

Terry

Re: Random Wi-Fi Disconnects Now Permanent

Would you believe it?

After that previous post I have disconnected the laptop from the phone and it has automatically connected to the router.

Can't make head nor tail of it.

Don't know if latest event log is likely to show anything up.

Without getting too involved in the discussion, the extender is woefully underpowered and I'd strongly suggest resigning it to a cupboard.

Re: Random Wi-Fi Disconnects Now Permanent

Hi Bob

Appreciate your input.

Had used the extender for approx 4 years but have now left it unplugged for the past week and to be honest I've no plans to use it in the future.

This afternoon I reset the router in the hope of clearing the problem. Managed to get on this evening but after a couple of hours connection was dropped and couldn't reconnect again so have connected now via phone. At one stage there were no networks showing in the area but did return.

I ran the wifi analyzer (attached) and saw my router listed in the 2.4GHz band, but my router is listed twice in the 5GHz band so not sure if there's some kind of conflict. Hoping it might help clear things up.

Regards

Terry
