Re: Pants Broadband.... Fault Ref: 69636053 & 69636077

Don't know what's going on here. Your banding is between 576 and 1152, and you're in sync at 1150. We could try an SNR reset and would be happy to, just don't know what's happened for the line conditions to have changed. You've not added any new phones or anything, or moved the router away from the master socket at all?
The line is definitely stable enough for a reset, my only concern is whether it'd retrain at a similar speed. I guess it's either that or escalate as a speed fault, please let us know which way you'd rather proceed?

Nope no changes other than what the BT engineer did last time.
Can you try an SNR reset and go from there.

Thanks for your patience.
I have checked your line and the diagnostics are showing a potential issue in the local network. I have now raised this with our suppliers so they can get this resolved. We will continue to monitor the fault for you and keep you updated, we aim to do this as soon as we can but it can take up to 72 hours.
I would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may be causing you.

Ahhh.. so I'm not going mad after all!
Thanks for whoever has taken a proper look at the line etc

Fault was raised... However a rather befuddled BT Engineer called this morning at 7.30 on my mobile, and says hes been given a different landline number,  has rung them and confused the woman..
I confirm my landline,  he says he actually has that too... but the routing information he has is all for the wrong number. .
Ring PN and tell them.. to be told as the engineer hasn't closed his job that there's nothing they can do until he does.. lo and behold, I get home and find no update. .
I assume looking at the above that I should have a 2200profile, but aren't getting it or syncing at it..
Wierdly, the fault as diagnosed by PN says one leg is disconnected.. the landline works however. And I've seen one leg disconns stop the landline from working.
BTW I can confirm the ONLY connection is currently to the Test Socket and thats how its staying till this issue is bottomed!

Re: Pants Broadband.... Fault Ref: 69636053 & 69636077

Im confused slightly..
Despite the PN fault diagnosis.. and that it was also stuck on BRAS with 1014...
My whitebox shows a marked improvement,  clearly just from the SNR reset. Hopefully someone will fix the line and it'll be even better.
This is "fair warning" to PN however,  knowing how bad Openreach are.. I won't be paying for the fault should the diagnosis turn out to be pants... I really can't see how I can have a one leg dis fault, yet my landline work fine.. Smiley

Re: Pants Broadband.... Fault Ref: 69636053 & 69636077

I am confused Embarrassed - not difficult I know but with that reported attenuation your speeds aren't too bad
So unless the reported fault is screwing up your attenuation you won't get much better
As a check if you put your post code in here http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/adslchecker.php - not your phone number
What does it give as distance from the exchange

Re: Pants Broadband.... Fault Ref: 69636053 & 69636077

Hi Jim,
I initially complained as my line was much worse than previously... and even worse after having a new NTE and drop line.
PN checked the line, and did an SNR reset,  and they also found a fault with the line when completing a Copper Line Test which came back as a wiring issue, one leg disconnected..
Hence why they booked an engineer... then the engineer had the wrong information.. so couldn't do any work.
Next after a call to PN for updates, get told it looks like its fixed... (righto.. it just fixed itself...) and quite frankly got a fob off from the guy on the phone who seemed quite incapable of anything other than repeating what he said before but in a different way.
Anyway as I passed an OR engineer earlier,  I stopped and enquired. He said a one leg dis fault would "normally" kill the line, however he said if the lines working,  its more than likely to actually be a HR (high resistance) fault masquerading as a one leg dis fault...
He agreed that its highly unlikely to have "fixed itself" as they never do,  and also said its likely to kill my bb speed again in short measure.
As it is its magically managed nearly a 150% sync improvement..  not bad considering I was told 1mb was the best I could get.. Despite having had much better before.
I'm not asking for 8mb.. but when a property some 5 doors away, fed from the same post can expect 2mb.. why can't I?
PN had best find out what happened with the engineer and report back as to what they intend doing, as it's going to get fixed this time for good, especially as they've just put up prices..

Re: Pants Broadband.... Fault Ref: 69636053 & 69636077

So we managed over a day and some at a sync of @2400.. lovely and stable imho, and back to how it was before.
This morning we have @2000 and I get home to 1700.
As the engineer said.. it'll soon drop and sure as .. it is!
Should I also mention before the last fault, it was going very well.. and without interleaving!
Now I have a new line, NTE and connection straight to test socket plus interleaving and its running like a sack of spanners!
I look hearing from someone who is technical
