Also, Plusnet? A mobile friendly website for times like these would be nice. ^__^

I thought http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,134472.0.html was?

Forum yes, troubleshooter no.

My connection went down about 930... I did do a router factory reset before it was clear there was a service problem..
Now just waiting but could the reset cause more problems?

Not particularly unless you have customised settings for port forwarding / games / additional admin users - just inconvenient as router will now need to go through the full setup WHEN it can get a connection to PlusNet

Then stop your troubleshooter from advising us to do so. Wink

The advice in the trouble shooter might be applicable in other circumstances, but not at this stage of a known issue elsewhere (MSO).  If people have an EXTENDED problem connecting (more than say 4 hours) at that point a factory reset might be applicable.  Based on the experience of the incidents earlier this year, a factory reset was generally a premature action.

So when they say "Power off your router for an hour" With Fibre does this mean the OR modem too? Is this going to confuse DLM and balls up our line profiles? Sad

No just the router.

Re: PN - major service incident

When they leave for and hour then reconnect, what they are saying is we have put them off for an hour

No just the router.

Thought so, thanks for confirming. Mine is jumping between a WAN IP of 172.x to 0.0.0.0 now

There's my day of work down the drain. Thanks Plusnet.
Any sort of timescale yet for when they are going to fix it?

Re: PN - major service incident

It looks like yet another BNG gateway failure. I guess throwing extra BNG gateways at the problem didn't really solve it.

Re: PN - major service incident

Still not working here in romford, should i wait before trying anything, or turn off the router for a while?
My connection is going on and off, when it's on it's for a few seconds and very slow.

Re: PN - major service incident

I live in Manchester, and my friend who works for Openreach advised me to switch off the OR modem for 2 minutes. Tried this, booted the router back up and I reconnected.
Hope this helps.

Re: PN - major service incident

FWIW I lost access for about half an hour sometime just after noon. The router seemed to have difficulty establishing PPPoE and even when it did the gateway or DNS server couldn't be pinged.
Earlier I was able to watch video OK.
Think I'll keep my fingers crossed, but maybe I should print out the support numbers just in case.

Just managed to reconnect here (nr Harrogate).
Rebooted router and just left it, after 5-10mins internet light went green and seem to be connected to ip starting 46.xxx
Hope it stays back up....
