Quote from: jelv Just how do you deduce that he is on 21CN from those stats?
Because neither 7246 or 828 are 20CN sync figures - unless something major has gone wrong, but even so when that has happened in my experience I've only seen strange US figures, DS has always been the exact values for 20CN

I'm really surprised, I thought you knew 20CN like the back of your hand being on it. How many links would you like?
See 20CN in this Library article those are 20CN speeds and it does mention they increment in 32kbps steps.
Also 20CN adsl1 again.
I don't recall if the US can be any old figure upto 832 when there's a fault on 20CN or whether it increments in any particular value, I'd have to try and find any figures I saved when I had a problem, if I find it, I'll let you know.

Why are you assuming that the 21CN equipment uses the same 32kbps steps as 20CN when configured as ADSL1 when ADSL2 and ADSL2+ have no such limitation? That seems very unlikely to me.

Regarding the US you are getting your knickers in a twist, I was referring to 20CN.
On 21CN, you can see other speeds if it is NOT configured to ADSL1. If it's ADSL1 on 21CN, it's 448 or 832 depending on whether it's capped or not.

Quote from: HughA Interesting development this morning. My line resynced, presumably as a result of the upstream being uncapped as requested, and the result was totally unexpected. Upstream sync has DROPPED to 352Kbps and downstream sync has INCREASED to 3488Kbps. Downstream SNR margin has dropped from 9dB to 6.8dB. Still on ADSL1 as expected. The bit loading graph on RouterStats shows a loading of 31 bits on tone 32, that can't be right can it? Can anyone explain whats happened here?

jelv you have taken this posters thread right off-topic. As you well know ADSL1 on 21CN was discussed the other day here if you have any further evidence on that subject post it over there, I'm happy to be proven wrong, with FACTS not speculation, and read the 2 BT specs referred by ejs in that thread as well.
@mobby
Apologies, ignore the last few posts from the 2 of us, back on topic, please note reply #13. Don't forget "Graceful" disconnects where needed, and what's the situation with the firmware?

Could you also run the BTw Performance test (DON'T REBOOT, ignore the red preamble except make sure no other programs are using the Internet) and at the end of the first run, click the Further Diagnostics button, enter just your Phone number and Run the Further Diagnostics Test.
Do a Copy and Paste of the results and post here (no need to grab an image).
