Hello, I've had PlusNet for over a month and a half now. Lately I've noticed that my internet keeps dropping and my speed has shot down all the way to 5.2mbps. My estimated speed was 17mbps, wondering if someone could possibly help me?

Hi jt,
I'm really sorry to hear that your connection is dropping out. Have you connected an alternative microfilter into your Test Socket?
This should eliminate any internal wiring or faulty microfilters that could potentially be causing the problem.

I have been on Plusnet three weeks or so now. It's reasonable reliable during the week but has long periods of no internet service at weekends. It's also dropped today as well. was hoping it would be more reliable really.

I've changed the microfilter to a spare that arrived with my router pack.
I'll update you if my internet continues to drop frequently.
Is there any reason why my broadband speed is so slow? Is it due to the weekend or is it something else? (Just realised it's Monday)

If your connection has been dropping quite a lot, your line may become banded.
There are several levels of banding. If your connection is dropping every couple of minutes or so, your speeds will be dropped lower and lower to try and stabilise the connection, this is known as banding.
Can you keep an eye on things and if it continues to drop, connect your broadband equipment into your <a href="http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/master-socket-guide.shtml">Test Socket</a>.

It may be worth trying a factory reset and setting up the router again.
