Re: IP Profile change please

Hi DBB,
I'm sure the faults guys will get to the bottom of it once they get their teeth into it.

Re: IP Profile change please

Don't accept the line that "The acceptable range of speeds is 400-2000 Kbps. as your speeds are in this range there is little that we can do  ... ".
As I pointed out here in a previous topic (topic,89000.msg746087.html) a couple of months ago, BT lower the rating for your acceptable speeds when they lower actual speeds. Then if/when your speed goes back up, ... up goes the "acceptable range".
Also, I think the chart that you were given was showing breaks of PPP link to Plusnet. That can break without losing sync with the exchange, despite what some people will have you believe, as I have also pointed out on posts to this forum.

Re: IP Profile change please

and still it drops. Now at 2336000
I do not expect, 4 days after making a complaint, for the situation to deteriorate further, but yet it has.

Re: IP Profile change please

Hi DBB,
I'm sorry to hear there's been no improvement. I've been looking for your complaint from 4 days ago but can't see it. The only one I can see was raised at 16:00 on 20/11/2010. Is this the one you mean?

Re: IP Profile change please

Reply #16 on 18/11/2010, 15:30 was the initial compliant.
Currently at 1760000 and a drop in profile to 1750. This was at 2500 by the way.
No attempt to contact me, and its more than 72 hours.
You're starting to make tiscali seen good.

Re: IP Profile change please

IP Profile for your line is - 1500 Kbps
excellent, 4 days of inactivity on a live call and you've done nothing, infact its daily getting worse.
What exactly was your award winning for, hacking off custoimers.
I now regret ever moving over to plusnet.

Just for clarification...

Re: IP Profile change please

and your reply only provided information, it did not, unfortunately, solve the problem. Only reason its been worked on now is due to the fact I complained yesterday evening and today.

Re: IP Profile change please

you are having a joke, aren't you.
I WAS on a stable 2.75mbps with tiscali, and now this (and I was told I would not have a drop in speed by going to plusnet).
Every time you ask me to retest my equipment I DROP speed. This is now unusable.
What is the route for compensation regarding this as I am now totally [Censored] off.
When is the BT engineer coming, I was told it was monday, or do you now want to to wait in all day monday on the off chance as you can't be bothered to inform me whats happening.

Re: IP Profile change please

connection went down 13:00 today. Why?
and why even bother to bring it back if this is all I get

that is unusable for the purposes I require broadband for.

HI DBB,
I can assure you we're doing everything we can for you. Hopefully the engineer visit today can resolve it.

Re: IP Profile change please

He came, he saw the errors, he replaced the master socket, he left.
I'm sure he'll let you know the rest, although my understanding is he found nothing.
I'll now have to leave it 10 days so the line can retrain as profile now at 750..

Re: IP Profile change please

Hi DBB,
Your sync rate is now 2432 so this will give you a profile of 2000 if the line doesn't have any disconnects.

Re: IP Profile change please

which means we would go back to question 1.
however, since my synch speed is dropping, and I have numerous errors occuring I think it may be a good time for you to recall BT and get them to actually sort this as its been 12 days now without having the broadband speeds I was promised before switching, or even a broadband speed that is fit for purpose.
