Re: FTTC speed or lack there of.

Yes, well spotted Andy, 01723 is Scarborough  Wink
The odd thing is that my speed appears to be capped to around 30Mbps, as that's the highest I've seen in the last 48 hours running auto tests every 10 mins. Maybe, as you mentioned previously, it's a temporary measure put in place by BT or perhaps an automated system to make things as smooth as possible until the upgrade.

Re: FTTC speed or lack there of.

It looks like a temporary measure to ensure people don't experience a severely downgraded service until the upgrade is completed.
Worrying thing is there are quite a few people with speed issues tonight that look exchange related.

Thank you for your continued patience. As per my message on the Forums, I have taken a look at the latest SVLAN report which is showing your exchange VP as 'Amber'. We are looking at a time period of 2 days for the VP to be increased.

Oh Bugler. another weekend without proper broadband..
It would seem I already do have a severely downgraded service.

Yes I've used it several times in the past without any problems, I think I had Avira on a few months ago and it moaned about it too.
The author mentions it on his site...

Re: FTTC speed or lack there of.

You could apply for a Whitebox to monitor your speeds/performance (if they are still giving them out) - https://www.samknows.eu/

Hi pod000,
I've checked over your connection and it's showing you're currently syncing at 80Mb/s, we're currently testing your line so we''ll see what the outcome is and go from there.
