Email problems

Is anyone having problems accessing email and Plusnet webmail. Service Status is showing as green, but I am unable to gain access and do not believe I have an issue with my Firewall. Thanks

Hi jocky, although telnet and Webmail seem fine our side, there's a few tickets I've seen where Webmail and email access is suddenly down. I'll get some examples so we can raise a problem.

There was a problem earlier in sending e mails; seems to be cleared now.
(Was getting message that "relaying not permitted".

I've had delays picking up email via POP3 & IMAP over the past few days. Normally it is either very slow to connect to the server initially or it times out. A re-attempt normally then connects OK.
Seems OK at he moment though.

I've not had any problems POPing or access to Webmail currently.

Hi, I had a ticket raised this morning as I cannot connect to pop3 or webmail. My internet connection is fine apart from that but I cannot even ping webmail.plus.net as there is no connection.  They say it could be due to static IP's and will let me know, so there is a problem somewhere!

I'm unable to connect to webmail, but pop3 is ok. Also most other PN portal pages are very slow loading. Had similar problms most of yesterday as well, cleared by the evening.

Silly question maybe (!), are you all logging into webmail here - https://webmail.plus.net/src/login.php and selecting the right server for your service?

I'm having a problem trying to collect my mail via Thunderbird  at present.  Each time I try to log in I'm told my password has failed and then get a box asking me to enter a new  password.

There is a P1 and service status out about this,  networks are trying to find the cause and updates will be sent out as we get them.

Sounds like it may be authentication issues then. I've just accessed webmail ok and popped ok. I don't know if it's gateway dependant, I'm on pcl-ag03. HTH.
