Re: broadband speed

Morning,
It's going to be worth trying the following, performing a speed test with a test login.
You'd need to login to your router, it needs to be set up using the username speedtest@speedtest_domain and password testing and then connect, then run BT speed test window and re-run the test. If this isn't loading please try accessing the site through the IP address: http://193.113.8.194/ as the DNS servers may not work.
Once you've tried that let me know your results of the speed test and also remember to change your details in your router back to your details.

Re: broadband speed

Hi chris, I just logged in as u said and tried that and it said it was unable to perform a speed test, not too sure why

Re: broadband speed

I ran it again on my own router login details and got this result:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 9.23 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 4 Mbps-21 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 16.37 Mbps

Re: broadband speed

Can you run through the checks at http://faults.plus.net and complete the diagnostic questions there, once you've done that I'll get this picked up.

Re: broadband speed

ok chris, i've answered the questions etc and says its been sent to the fault team. I'm happy with 9mbs still, but would be nice if it is possible to get a little more juice out of it 😛

Re: broadband speed

That's great, we'll try and get you to where it should be, I've commented on the fault and it's in-hand.

Re: broadband speed

Hi there,
I was just wondering if the SNR reset was successful?

Re: broadband speed

Just checked my router stats and says: snr margin (0.1 db): 62
So I'm assuming that means 6.2db, in which case the reset must have been successful as it was 3db before Smiley

Re: Re: broadband speed

Could you check your Current Line speed (Login required) and run the BTw Performance Test.
If you could post the full DSLstats (inc. error figures) from your modem/router, that could be useful as well.

Re: broadband speed

The diagnostic checks I'm able to perform show the SNR margin at 6db so it looks like it's been successful.
The speeds look like they're back up towards your estimate and I'd go so far to say that the line is looking more stable now. I'd keep an eye on it though:

Re: broadband speed

Thanks for looking into it for me Adam Smiley I will keep an eye on it over the next few days during the line re-train period
