Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

This is what the box says....
Wireless 802.11b/g ADSL2+ Modem Router with 4 Ports Switch
‧Description:
Full Rate ADSL2+ connection
Supports 802.11b/g Wireless Access Point
Support IP sharing for upto 253 wired / wireless users
Operating modes include routing, bridge, static IP, PPPoE, PPPoA, dynamic IP
Web-Based Configuration and Smart Setup Wizard
Compatible with major operating systems e.g Windows, Mac, Linux
Firmware upgradable

I've  done a factory reset &  flashed the most recent filmware .
In ADSL mode option it gives these options
Auto sync
ADSL2+
ADSL2
G.DMT
T1.413
G.lite

I've tried  ASDL2+ , ADSL2  & Auto Sync
but G.DMT still shows on the line sats
Line State : Showtime
Modulation : G.DMT
Annex Mode : ANNEX_A

Hmm ?

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

I assume Auto sync is what I called multi-mode.
However since you've tried all the alternatives it does seem you are stuck with G.DMT at the moment. Do you have an alternative ADSL2+ capable router to try to confirm it isn't a router problem?

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

I haven't  , my back up  is the old eltec  "frog ". which is ony G.DMT
Just done another another BTspeed test
Download speedachieved during the test was - 4631 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 600-7150 Kbps.
Your DSL Connection Rate :6336 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 5000 Kbps

It says max on the line 7150kbps... Could than mean I'm still on  normal ADSL ?
Quick look on http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/max_speed_calc.php
Gives a line speed of over 9500 on a 39db Attenuation for ADSL2+ ????
  While  dslMAX is 7100
Thanks again for helping with this ...:)

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

For a G.DMT connection the maximum is 7150. and I imagine that's all it means in your case. I think the 21CN support team might need to check your connection since you've been advised you are on ADSL2+.

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

CSC just double checked things and at there end everything being moved over to 21CN from 20CN ( cross checked with BT wholesale ,but  being the weekend  it might  not of fully gone through )
Its also being checked with 21CN support so well see how it goes.
Thanks again

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

I've got a funny feeling that you're on ADSL1 on 21CN as your line looks like it was moved to that before you changed your product to Premium. I'll go check and place an order to move you to ADSL2+ if that's the case.

Bingo, you were on ADSL1 on 21CN. I've placed an order to move you over to ADSL2+, this should complete tomorrow.

It's a common bug that has been affecting people changing products for a long, long time (months if not years). One day they will fix it (Oh look, there's some bacon going past the window!)

Do the 21CN line change overs take place in the early hours say 3am on a automated system?

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

User experience from these forums has been that the 21CN DLM does not respond kindly to frequent disconnections. However it's probable that the ADSL2+ re-sync (in the middle of the night) was not at a good time for highest speeds. My suggestion if to leave it overnight so it's had well over 24 hours in sync, then note the noise margin late morning.
Assuming it is significantly above 6dB power down the router, wait 10 minutes then power up again and see what you achieve. Best to avoid further re-syncs though.
