Well more time has passed and this just keeps happening. The connection will be fine for a while, then drop again to below 2mbps.

There's still no noise on the line.

Hi Timbob,
I see you've passed your question back to the faults team. They will check this again for you in due course.

I have sent an email to a specialist team at BT who check the capacity of your local exchange.  it may be that your speed issue is related to a capacity problem.  Especially as your speeds are not consistently low.  Whilst we are waiting for a reply can you confirm if you conducted the previous speed test via an ethernet cable or a wireless connection?

Hello Alex. All my tests are conducted via ethernet cable, yes.
Thanks for looking into this for me. Smiley

Re: Speed Issues [Question ID: 46831058]

So according to the ticket response, I am being moved to ADSL2 on the 10th, but there was a note about having a router able to use the service. I was under the impression Plusnet provide this for their existing customers moving to the service?

We can supply you with a compatible router. We charge a postage and packaging fee of £4.99 but the router is not charged unless you leave within 12 months (£40)

Hi Timbob,
We need to take the £4.99 by card. If you don't have any card details you can add them here. Let me know when you want me to go ahead.

Hi Timbob,
Not having much luck sorting that, have a look at the email we just sent you.

Hmph. I am entering my details correctly. But it just keeps saying check digits. Really no joy with that number? I can try a different card if it's still not working.

Re: Speed Issues [Question ID: 46831058]

How old is your current router? It's very unusual for routers sold within the last few years to not be capable of supporting ADSL2+ although some do need a firmware upgrade.

It's a BT Voyager 2110. I've had it easily 5+ years I would say, though not too sure exactly.
