12/18 month broadband contracts have been abolished - all Plusnet residential contracts (including for existing users) are now 10 days (however deferred charges such as activation or hardware may have to be paid if you leave within a year)

Wen did PlusNet put the "robots" file on the Server?  Google used to index the Forum daily!

Isnt the search engine run by Google?  If that is the case no wonder the search engine is up the spout!

Gary,

This means that there are NO restrictions on indexing this server.  From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robots.txt:

Quote
This example allows all robots to visit all files because the wildcard "*" specifies all robots:

User-agent: *
Disallow:

It's better to define a robots.txt than to not have one at all.

So, tinfoil hats away please everyone - Community is indexed by Google (almost continually, actually).

The phrase serves as a byword for paranoia and is often used to characterize conspiracy theorists.
From wikipedia

Well I made a mistake, I am not paranoid or a conspiracy theorist in any way!

It was me - I didn't realise that Disallow followed by a blank means don't disallow anybody!

It was to stop it flooding the error log with 404 messages for robots.txt -- although I'd forgotten it had been put there, so this discussion initially paniced me!
