End of Day: 18th December

I think I'm being punished today, for forgetting about the End of Day again... so you're stuck with me editing again. I've not come down with the dreaded lurgy, thankfully, as we're off out tonight for leaving drinks for one of our team and it's the Christmas Party tomorrow night. First up today, we have Bob from Comms:
It's been sparse one on the Comms desk again today with just me, Mand & Chris manning the fort. James did make a brief appearance earlier but had to be sent home as he's managed to contract the lurgy that's recently been doing the rounds at Plusnet Towers. Chris has been blogging today, writing some training documentation and keeping an eye on the forums, whilst Mand's been working on this month's newsletter that will be clambering down customers' chimneys in the not-too-distant future! I've looked at a few problems, been keeping abreast of all things IronPort and been overseeing Network's change controls (hopefully there won't be many more of them this year now that their sytstems freeze is in place!) Finally, I've been told that I *must* contribute to the 12 days of Commsmas, so here goes... On the first day of Commsmas the Comms Team gave to me A big hot mug of tea. On the second day of Commsmas the Comms Team gave to Bob, two tins of spam. On the third day of Commsmas the Comms Team gave to Chris, three days off. On the fourth day of Commsmas the Comms Team gave to us, four "Comms is teh r0×0rz" mugs. On the fifth day of Commsmas the Comms Team gave to you, 5 Comms peeps. On the sixth day of Commsmas the Comms Team gave to you, the 6th line of this song. On the seventh day of Commsmas the Comms Team gave to me seven Pac-Man Christmas treeeees... - http://technabob.com/blog/2007/12/05/pac-man-christmas-tree-hits-madrid/ Have a pleasant evening. Bob.
The Web Team seem to have a varied day....
James is demob happy as he's off for his Christmas Holidays from tonight, and has been doing random tasks for Jonny today. Dan's been working on some internal changes for bookmarking and also improving HRs departmental page. Phil's been off learning git and working on our 'Account Finder' tool so we can find test accounts in particular states... and confusing us both with some Javascript. In between doing stuff with Phil's Javascript, I've been writing some code and doing some code reviews for my colleagues up here and down in Development. Sam's been working on Business Product Refresh stuff, with Gary, while Nick and Duffy have been working on Home Phone emails (and I've been looking at them too!). Tam tells me he's been doing "Testing CSS + iframe caching issues, sorting through old demos and proof of concept code to see if any of it is still relevant, constructing example uses of Ext components." which I'm not sure entirely what that was (but it sounds interesting!). Andy's been doing updated Thomson content, which Mark's been reviewing... in between bug fixing for the Business Product Refresh, and looking forward to the afore-mentioned Christmas Party tomorrow night. Finally, we have Wojtek who's been writing some wiki documentation and doing code reviews and Pete who's been getting ready to deliver a Christmas Newsletter which should be landing in your inboxes over the next 24-48 hrs. Jonny and Kelly have either been doing nothing or just haven't looked at their jabber clinets since I got Andy to send the broadcast message for me
Right, that's it ... the pub is calling. Colin
