can u print off a laptop to your main computer printer and do u need to install the printer software

Yes I have done that with a EPSON Stylus DX7400.

thanks peter my main printer is a epson c66 and im on windows xp on both computers but how do i print off my laptop do i install my printer software onto my laptop and just press print

I do this from an XP laptop to an HP PSC 2355 all-in-one physically connected to my Vista desktop. When setting up printing using the wizard on the laptop the HP is defined as a network printer; printer drivers are needed, but I think these were copied (over my LAN) from the printer software installed on my PC.
I think printer sharing needs to be enabled.

This http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814005 should help you setup the printer to be shared.
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.
