plusnet 0800 number

plunet does have an 0800 number! but try and get hold of it and Plusnet staff deny any knowledge of the elusive number.
Just to inform my other forum users the number is: 08000731120.

Re: plusnet 0800 number

That is because you aren't using Firefox as I get your picture on IE8

Re: plusnet 0800 number

Bizarre!
I normally use Firefox and on www.plus.net I see the same telephone number as Jim, but it says quote ref: K2RLCX.
I then tried IE and saw the same as pierre_pierre.
I suspect some sort of error in code which varies according to the browser.
Edit: I've checked the server identifier string at the bottom of the page and they are the same.

Re: plusnet 0800 number

I get 0800 shown... (in Firefox)

"In The Beginning Was The Word, And The Word Was Aardvark."

Re: plusnet 0800 number

I had an A5-size flyer in the post box yesterday advertising Plusnet and the freephone number is given as 0800 073 3057.
Free broadband for 3 months - either use the telephone or go online at www.plus.net/voucher using promo code "samson".
On the reverse is the legend 'Un-chuffin-believable!'.  Strange way to put things but there we are.

Re: plusnet 0800 number

Weird.
My first explanation would have been cookies. The 0800 number displaying if you've never logged into our website, and the 0845 one showing if you have. Just cleared my cookies in Chrome and tried again though and I'm still seeing the 0845 number.
We were doing some split testing but I can't see what merit there would be in varying the contact number.
FWIW the split testing showed one of two 'samsons' (that's the Yorkshire Terrier's name) when you visited the home page. One with a text field for your post code and one without. The one with the text field winks at you if you look at it long enough! Cheesy
Anyway, I'll run this by our web content guys to see what they make of it...
