W10 and privacy

Well I have just done my first install of W10. Looks like M$ have heard of privacy but are having none of it.  Angry
DEFAULT install is to phone home with virtually everything you do, browsing history, apps, etc, etc.  Lips are sealed
Add to that the other defaults and you are giving M$ a load of your private details/habits.  Crazy
Even after you have turned off all the options what else is it phoning home with? You thought Google was bad, M$ just got worse.  Shocked

Re: W10 and privacy

HB your thread surprised me have you not seen the mammoth 54 page thread on windows 10? it covers this in it. I'm glad I don't game on Windows because its forced me into using Linux full time at home after a lot of reading and even now windows 7 is getting contaminated with Microsoft spy-ware and anti virus isn't blocking it lol.

Re: W10 and privacy

I didn't have the time or inclination to read all 54 pages of that thread. I wouldn't normally be installing ANY M$ product but my mate wanted it. I was horrified by just how much they want you just to "accept" as most people would just click the "normal" install.
I stopped using M$ nearly 10 years ago and only game on W7 since xp "expired".

Re: W10 and privacy

Yeah it's a lot of pages to sift through I got up to page 30 or there about as I like to keep an eye on the goings on with the latest windows but after that thread I don't think I will be using windows in the home again.

Been there.... load of rubbish ( avoiding the swear filter)... and dumped it.... with all the problems highlighted, in the other thread about windows 10... plus the extra work it would involve me, I`m definitley not going there again...

And it's acting like free software with all the info gathering.
The only thing missing is pop up ads.
Maybe the next update..............................
