I am not looking to move, so do not panic PN :P.... well, not yet anyway
I was interested in peoples feedback on virgin media, i must admit the 20Mb and now 50Mb speeds are very appealing, especially for a gamer!. As anybody had past experience? currently my line sits at 5500 so i am happy as larry, but are these fibre networks just going to swallow ISP's like PN ?
I have a feeling that from a customer point of view, the size of Virgin Media may not help with customer care etc. Busy lines.

Latency is the enemy, but it is also nice to have a good line for streaming and downloading.
How much data is actually sent / received from an average xbox game such as COD per hour online?

Very little I expect.

I understand that - but you say that the speeds must be appealing for a gamer.
Surely you mean they are appealing for somebody who wants to stream lots of things concurrently, or who wants to download lots of things concurrently.
I accept I'm being a tad more pedantic than is needed, but it's worth not perpetuating the myth that gaming requires a fat pipe - it doesn't, it needs a fast pipe. How many mbps is not the most useful measure for gamers after a point. Whereas ms per packet round trip to the gaming server is *always* important.

Currently i have interleaving on as well, but i am hitting an A rating on pingtest, avg 17ms. To be honest the best test for me would be to actually turn the xbox on and play COD, but be warned!!! if i start jumping all over the place and some america kid starts laughing at me.... i shall be back!

I'm not too sure about that! I've no hard figures but since my 2 boys have had X-Box live I'm exceeding my (15GB) allowance every month (usually by ~5GB). Previously usage was no problem & I'm looking to change/upgrade my account sometime soon.
