has anyone been able to change the password on this device with success?
I appeared to have the same issue at one point... I needed to restart firefox, then it accepted the new password, otherwise try "admin"

Have you tried a factory reset if all else fails?

Router is now in bridge mode.
For future reference, its pvc 0/38 rather than 0/35.

Thanks guys, brilliant find!
How do you change the pvc? do you need to edit the binary backup settings.conf or can you somehow change it with the gui?

Try http://192.168.1.254/dumpcfgdynamic.cmd . it should dump the config in text mode, then you'll see the PVC settings

Yes, I can see <DestinationAddress>PVC: 0/38</DestinationAddress> in this xml but how can you change it? (if I used the .conf linked by Darsh to put the router in bridge mode)

Re: Unlocking the potential of Sagemcom 2704N

Regarding - http://192.168.1.254/dumpcfgdynamic.cmd
You can copy & paste that config into a file E.G. "my-april-config.conf" - if you have changed the bridge mode already - that change is reflected in the most recent config that is displayed.
Then you can upload the file to http://192.168.1.254/updatesettings.html
( I hope that made sense! )

EDIT:
You could try http://192.168.1.254/modconn.cmd?action=view
but I dont know if it will allow you to edit it using the stock firmware

Re: Unlocking the potential of Sagemcom 2704N

Hello, I made a couple of changes to the the firmware again is anyone wants it:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4-Ln6UubyEeb2l0RUFUekFFOFU/
Changed Netcat for a static Telnet  (smaller memory footprint)
Changed the PSI, so bigger configs are saved between reboots

Hi Darsh & Matty123123
Just to let you know, I know I'm not the only one that is appreciating your efforts and following this thread with interest - even if I haven't got to grips with (or understood Shocked ) some of it.
Keep up the good work please. Smiley

Re: Unlocking the potential of Sagemcom 2704N

Hello, I thought I'll write how I opened up the router, attached is a sort-of "DIY guide" if someone would like to do it manualy.
I think I've exhausted all my knowledge now...

Wow! Cleartext config! Finally! Thanks, Matt! Will dig into it now.
Your hardware breaking results are impressive! Thanks for the modified firmware, will try it soon.
