After a weekend of silence we have solved the problem:
- "username@username.plus.com" (replacing "username" with my ID, of course) for my SMTP User Name: and my email From: address (rather than "personalname@username.plus,com") worked
- I'm now using "mail.enmail.co" as my SMTP server, Port: 465, Authentication method: Normal password, Connection security: SSL/TLS
- The problem was my use of aliases to send email. I have never used the "username@username.plus.com" format. Greenby have kindly added my most frequently uses two aliases in the Email, All Mailboxes settings.

Greetings @smeech
Thanks for the heads-up...
I don't use an alias so I should see the same problem.. the change in mail server is good to know though 🙂
Cheers
Steve

I have several: for email that relates to me, my youngest son, my wife, my mother, a spam-trap, and a voluntary role. Now I know how to reestablish them I should be OK, especially as I only need to do that for outgoing mail. Most of my email is filtered into folders by Thunderbird, and aliases make that much simpler.
