Problem logging on to Greenby

I have just been listening to a program on Radio 4 about scammers accessing peoples email accounts and doing things such as changing the password, or blocking emails from certain sources or being able to read emails to or from someones email account. The scammers  started by only having the email address of the victim.

I decided that I should change my Greenby password, but have found I cannot log on to Greenby. They, like a lot of businesses want your email address as your username. I have tried two email addresses and neither worked. I then tried logging on to both but using the "I've forgotten my password" because if they find an account that matches that email address, they send an email to that address. Neither worked.

How can I contact Greenby if I cannot log on to my Greenby account?

No they dont' The Greenby portal ( www.greenby.com ) will work with your Plusnet accountname & password

Assuming your email a/c has migrated to Greenby ...

You logon to https://greenby.com/ with the same credentials as are used for the Plusnet Members Center.

Sorry, but I panicked when I didn't receive a response from Greenby in what I considered a reasonable time. They have eventually sent response emails so I have been able to access my account and change my password.

Yes.

Whereas, to log on to your Greenby Plusnet email account via Greenby webmail: Roundcube Webmail :: Welcome to Roundcube Webmail (greenby.com) requires your Plusnet email address (it says "Username") and account password!

Radio programs & News papers love to create panic, without it they would  not have a show.

Most email security breaches come down to the simple things.

1) Failing to spot forged emails / Phishing

2) Passwords that are easy to guess or work out or reused.

3) Email apps that are not configured to use SSL/TLS or STARTTLS on both the POP3/IMAP or SMTP servers.

    Plusnet & Greenby do not enforce encryption and for some legacy email servers it still is not enabled.
