Phone icon.

Slightly out of focus here sorry, but does anybody know what that sort of horizontal lighting icon (first on the left) is supposed to represent on my new Blackview BV4900.

It never used to be there so I guess I must have switched something on, but what?

Been through the manual and my phone settings of course and looked on line, but all to no avail so far.

Thanks guys.

It's the vibrate icon.

Re: Phone icon.

@dvorak

The vibrate option is switched off on the phone, so I don't think it's that... but will check 🤔

PS. Nope, it aint that. 🙂

Re: Phone icon.

Google says it's an audio or sound wave icon, does that help ?

@Champnet

They would be more like a sort of sine wave you see on an oscilloscope?

Re: Phone icon.

@Dan_the_Van

Thanks Dan, it's certainly some sort of background app running but again, I don't think it's the one you suggest.

Will check it out though.

Cheers.

Re: Phone icon.

It might be worth having a look in 'Device maintenance' if you've never been there, also 'Battery' might give some further options to save power by putting some Apps to sleep.

PS @Minivanman

If you want images that aren't out of focus, you can save a screenshot by swiping the edge of your hand across the screen from side to side.  Wink

Re: Phone icon.

Thanks @RobPN, but that was more to do with my slightly shaking hand rather than me blaming it on focus.

Screenshots don't care about focusing or shaking hands @Minivanman .  Wink  Smiley

Re: Phone icon.

Gotcha!

Found out it indicates 'data saver' has been activated which reduces the amount the phone downloads to load web pages.

Only on a low tariff as it happens... so I've left it switched on but hey, at least I know what it is now. 👍

Thanks for your suggestions guys, much appreciated. 🙂

Re: Phone icon.

I don't own a Blackberry (and yes I cheated and just Googled this), but maybe you could try the following which may give you an idea of what is running in the background:

To view all apps that are running in the background, return to the home screen and then hold the BlackBerry key. On some phones, return to the home screen, display the menu and choose "Switch Application" to view the background apps.
