Outlook - Windows 11 - Email Preview - Attachment - PDF

Good morning 

When I open an email with a Word attachment. In the preview screen, I try to print the word file, but it sends it straight to PDF and fails. Yet when I open Word in Desktop it prints fine to printer. How do I stop Print Preview automatically goes to PDF mode in Outlook?

@lachlan79  Check default printer in Outlook, (File Print Printer) it may be different to Word default printer.

Yes default printer is Printer. This only happens in Email preview mode. Once I open document fully, and print, it prints fine.

I checked in with Microsoft and they couldn't solve the problem either.

Windows 11. When I try to print from a preview of Word document in Outlook. Rather than print it, it tries to print it as a PDF and then fails.

However, in desktop word, file prints fine to my printer, and my printer is set as default. Its just an issue in email preview section.

What make and model printer are you using? Sometimes the answer is with the associated app that comes with the printer.

Having it (the printer) 'set as default' might the wrong setting.
