@IMM Have a look at Active Backup for Business now included at no further cost.

I use Veeam Free Agent to back up desktop to NAS. I also sync desktop to NAS. I use NAS backup software to backup to usb drive and the cloud (Google Drive).

Re: How do I back up a Synology NAS?

@Champnet Yes, I've found that, it looks like it will do a good job of backing up my PCs and Laptop. - much the same as the Home Server does at present.

Then I'm using Hyper Backup to back the NAS up to an attached USB drive. Slightly concerned that I seemed to break the backup when I used HyperBackupExplorer on my PC to look at the files with the USB drive attached to the PC. I'm not sure whether that was an inherent problem with HyperBackupExplorer or whether I disconnected the USB drive without dismounting it properly (I didn't think I did that but may have.)

Re: How do I back up a Synology NAS?

@spile Is there any particular reason you use Veeam rather than Active Backup for Business?

When you say "NAS backup software" do you mean Hyper Backup or something else.

Thanks for your input

Veeam Free Agent does everything I want and has been reliable. As for NAS backup software, I’m using HBS3 as I have a Qnap.
