email

I am a new boy, so the PlusNet  email system seems as obfuscatory as anything of its ilk  to someone who is also over Sixty:  What are folders for? It does not say.  are these separate lists of addresses for mail to individual groups?  If not, can one achieve this?  Also why is there no outbox available?  The display refers only to an inbox.  Can one change typeface? The standard one is so unobtrusive it is almost invisible. Still, things might improve before a year is out.

Re: email

Folders are like file pockets in a filing cabinet - for sorting your messages into different categories. There are some predefined ones (much the same on any system). An Outbox is a folder which is only a temporary repository for mail you are going to send, and when sent, a copy is saved in the 'Sent' folder. When working with a mail client such as Outlook Express you may be working off-line so messages you want to send are put in your Outbox until you go on line and send them. With a webmail system, you are by definition on-line, so an Outbox is redundant.
With the address book, you can create seperate groups and put individual contacts into one or more groups.
All systems with have an 'Options' or 'Tools' menu where you can find settings to change typeface etc. The 'Help' menus are the place to look for how to do things. Have a tinker around, don't be afraid to play with things, you are unlikely to do anything to upset your system, except if messing with account settings in a mail client. If you have further queries, the best place to post is in the 'Community Support' Forum.
