Sorry I moved to Plusnet

Have only been with Plusnet since 11-Nov-2010 and am thinking of moving supplier since I have  realized that they
do not do an unlimited service (unless you go Business) and you do not get any webspace unless you pay another
company to webhost for you.
Am trying to work out how much it is going to cost  me to leave.

Re: Sorry I moved to Plusnet

Welcome to the forum
Researching a company before joining It Is always the best option, And unless you took one of Plusnets routers I don't think It will cost you anything to leave.

Re: Sorry I moved to Plusnet

Hi Steve thanks for that and I realizes I should have looked
before I leaped but was in such a state with TalkTalk that I missed the
importance of studying the product before purchasing.
I did not take the router as just using the my own.
The silly thing is that Plusnet have done everything they said
they would with regard to the change over and line speed
and as for ring the customer help line I have no complaints.
Am sorry to have to leave but Plusnet just do not do what I need.

You do realize that you can have free Unlimited download usage from Midnight to 8AM? If that helps you change your mind to stay?

Re: Sorry I moved to Plusnet

Hi Steve,
Yes I do know about the night time download but even though I have been using computers for
more years than I care to remember I have not come across software that we set the download at
a time that you can set.
I need to download some rather large files on occasion and it can be done during the night if
I have software that could do as I have said.
Thanks for your help and will see if I can work around as I truly do not want to move again.
If anybody knows of such software then please post.

Re: Sorry I moved to Plusnet

Where are you downloading from? If it's HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, FTPS, or BitTorrent then GetRight will allow scheduling.

How advanced do you need?  Databases, PHP etc or just plain HTML?

Re: Sorry I moved to Plusnet

Have you looked at Google's Picassa?
http://picasa.google.com/
Software to organise your photos which you then upload to Picassas photo gallery, you can tag your photos and if they have geolocation it'll even display where you took the photo to.  Gives you, I think it was 2Gb of space to upload your pics to.

Re: Sorry I moved to Plusnet

Get youself a NAS and host the pictures yourself.
Cheap and easy and the NAS can also be a backup drive.
Example:
Netgear ReadyNAS Duo RND2000 £129.97 + Drives
They may have a free drive offer on but it will have to be done by 31 Dec.
Looks like it is only the NAS with drives now:
With every purchase of this 2TB NAS drive until 31st Decemeber 2010, you can claim an extra FREE 2TB...
