it's like the weird one of service status emails going into spam for me since the move.. which is still happening.

Remind me, it's a Gmail mailbox rather than a Plusnet one you're talking about isn't it?

Re: Service status RSS feed

Right, FeedDemon should be working now. It's a firewall issue. I'm not sure why it's catching FeedDemon and no other RSS reader though, that's something we're going to need to look into.

Just FYI I've got all present and correct from the 24th Sept to date using FF RSS feed, but it looks as though your issue has been found and fixed.

We've created an exception for FeedDemon etc. and re-enabled what was causing the RSS problems. Shout up if you notice anything untoward.

Re: Service status RSS feed

I don't know what you've done but this evenings service status postings haven't all come through! Sad
Actually, I've had just two postings come through today:
16/10/8377 at 15:13:47 Broadband Connectivity (83190) - NEW (links to 17:52 posting)
16/10/5178 at 15:13:48 Broadband Connectivity (83190) - Update (links to 19:46 posting)
I suspect the dates of the postings may be a little suspect! Cheesy

Re: Service status RSS feed

Hi Bob & jelv. & Jim
I've had a feeling that my recent RSS FF SS feeds haven't been coming through in a timely manner, but difficult to know if I haven't got FF open or if I don't check regularly. But the last one yesterday (2136) I was pretty sure hadn't come through by around midnight. I've had it since FF has been on since 2100. I'll try an check more carefully over the next few days.
I'll drop you a PM as well Bob.
dvorak says he only got 2 yesterday on his feed (newsbar) - you beat me !
PS. Anyone know of a way of checking the time the FF RSS Feed reader picks up a message?

Re: Service status RSS feed

I wasn't looking at Firefox but at Outlook 2003 with RSS Popper and I received 4 but there are some oddities in the feed
83190 solved is dated Mon 16/10/1797 15:14 and Planned Broadband Faults Troubleshooter and Website Maintenance - Delayed to Fri 17th October Midnight - 6.00 is shown as having come from one of my email addresses not the usual feed source

Re: Service status RSS feed

Feedly hasn't picked up the two posts in question either. The dates display OK but using FeedDemon, they don't:

Not tried Outlook/RSS Popper but I think we can assume it's down to the same thing.
We'll look into it.
Edit: The issues being reported don't strike me as being synonymous with the change we made yesterday but we've reverted it none-the-less. Keep your eyes peeled and shout up if you notice anything else untoward.

Re: Service status RSS feed

Looking at the feed source the errors are in there - it's not FeedDemon misinterpreting the data (I've truncated it from where it goes right):

Access to our website, Broadband Faults Troubleshooter and internal systems.

How long will it take?
Approximately 6 hours.
What does the work involve?
We need to make some changes and as a result our website including the customer Portal and Broadband Faults Troubleshooter will be unavailable.

Am I likely to notice the work?
Yes, you won't be able to access our website including the customer Portal and Broadband Faults Troubleshooter for the duration of the maintenance window and holding pages will be in place.

Is there anything else I need to know?
Our customer support centre will not have access to BT back-end systems and our internal systems for the majority of the maintenance window. This also means that we will not be able to take any payments during this time.
I've just checked the raw source and it's still wrong so backing out the changes hasn't fixed this.

Re: Service status RSS feed

Jelv has posted while I was taking a look at the raw files.
The publication date shown for the latest item is Thu, 16 Oct 2014 21:40:12 +0100 which is correct, and the file modification time is consistent with that. However for items older than that the dates are weird. For example the penultimate item is dated Mon, 16 Oct 1797 14:13:49 +0000, the one previous to that Mon, 16 Oct 5178 14:13:48. Since 32-bit time stamps will overflow after year 2038, getting year 5178 means problems.
Something similar to this occurred with Status emails which we fixed before the box went live. This didn't appear to affect RSS but I'll take a look.
