Quite hard to find but it says
Quote The UK's Information Commissioner (ICO) has told the BBC that the firm behind a leak of thousands of Sky broadband customers' personal data could face a fine of half a million pounds.

Quote from: foxtrck EDIT: I dont believe this should be removed, PN are obviously covering their backs by misinforming people, the people affected here need to be able to be able to make their own judgement on what has happened instead of carefully worded PN legal nonsence.
Moderators Note
The moderators are removing the links, not Plusnet.
Removing links to the entire dataset that was potentially illegally obtained is a decision we have taken. The information is readily available via search engines if you are that keen on finding it.

Frankly that is nowhere near enough.
If it helped click the thumb
If it fixed it click 'This fixed my problem'

Perhaps it'll be £500,000 per infringement. How many emails were leaked?...

Quote from: foxtrck No emails or phone numbers given in sheet.
I have downloaded the email archive and uudecoded all the emails.
The file PLUSNET_133_complete-CHECKED.xls has the names and addresses of 134 PlusNet customers, and the name of the hardcore pornography they have downloaded.
The file Plusnet_Ltd-200-(07-01-2010 - 10-03-2010) (Revised).xls has a list of 844 downloads of the file "VA - Clubland 16 (2009)" and the IP addresses but no personal details.
The file Plusnet Letter_09_08_2010_DB.doc is a letter from an ACS solicitor to BT referring amongst other things to PlusNet's failure to diclose certain information. It mentions posts on the PlusNet community board.
In total there are 5 files with PlusNet in their names and 13 files which refer to PlusNet.
This is shocking.

Quote About Bruce Schneier
Bruce Schneier is an internationally renowned security technologist and author. Described by The Economist as a "security guru," he is best known as a refreshingly candid and lucid security critic and commentator. When people want to know how security really works, they turn to Schneier.
<snip>
Schneier is the Chief Security Technology Officer of BT.
He has written a book called E-Mail Security.

[quote=http://www.schneier.com/book-email.html]E-Mail Security is out of print, but I have a few copies available for $10 to U.S. addresses and $20 to non-U.S. addresses. Both prices include shipping. To order the books, please use these PayPal links:
U.S. ($10) non-U.S. ($20)
If you'd like the book signed to anyone in particular, be sure to specify that in a comment in the PayPal order.
It has been suggested that a copy is sent to Prakash Mistry
