Ok, seems to have been a problem with a failed billing since I updated my payment details. However, why would PN block my access to Plus.net when precisely I need access to check my account?

Glad to see you've got to the bottom of this. It's not intentional to restrict access to our website when you're in failed payment, it's unfortunately an issue which can occur for some customers which we're aware of and working to fix.
