Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

Well I "dived in" as invited by Neil and I now have a 10GB allowance ...I think Undecided
My account records in the member centre seem to indicate this but the reply I got to the ticket (27365905) requesting the change just said...
"Your discount has now been added and a new 12 months contract started."
and the email received confirming the new account said...
"Your new account type: PlusNet Broadband Your Way Option 1 (Annual Contract) with included 2GB bandwidth"
I have suggested in my reply to the ticket that your procedures in respect of this change might want to be reviewed Roll_eyes

Hi Cliff, that will be due to the way the process works at the moment. We have to change the contractual term of your account before we can add the special offer component. Looks like you're getting a system generated email when we do this that won't take into account the increased usage allowance as it hasn't been added yet). Will ask about and see if there's an easy way for us to get around this.

Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

Thanks Bob, everything seems to be in order on my account and I have closed the ticket although the last response I got from CS was not too helpful.

If a user on BBYW2 takes up this offer - is it possible to switch back or are you stuck on Option 1 for the full year

I got more than that...  Wink

2GB  - there is no need to worry.
An extra 1GB of data transfer has been automatically added to your account
for this month at a charge of £1.22.
If you use up this extra 1GB before the end of the month, another 1GB will
be added at the same cost of £1.22. And so on, until the end of the month.

and because my current data this month is about 5G - and I'm nearing my contract date - I got four emails each adding 1G and a further £1.22 !!!.

Me thinks account change processes need updating ?  Smiley

Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

My account set up was changed quite quickly to 10GB, as can be seen in the VMBU screengrab  below, but as I am only just starting a new charging period it will be some time before I hit my original 2GB limit. I will continue to trust that everything is well and keep my fingers crossed as I approach 2GB Wink

Just checked one of my referrals - ticket raised for new offer and responded to within 4 hours.
Everything OK

Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

I sent a ticket yesterday at 5pm and by 10am this morning it was all set up. As one ready to whinge when things go wrong I have to say to Plusnet on this occasion 'Well Done' . Of course if this 12 month contract precludes me from an even better deal in the future I will still sulk!

Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

Well mine went through this morning too - within about 14 hours of raising th ticket.  Grin
Just one concern, I thought we paid in advance for download allowance ??
My invoice date is 2nd Jan
My 15 G allowance that I had until yesterday, is now down to 10G .
Shouldn't be a problem - but it doesn't feel right somehow ???.
Should have been a prorata allowance at least if it was paid in arrears.
My suspicions about PN's billing system are not allayed........... Roll_eyes

Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

Why are some of us on Opt 1, with 2gb allowance still paying £14 odd, whereas Existing Opt 2 is this price, with 15gb?? Angry
Dec last year I took up offer of 6 mths reduced charge of £9.99, then reverted to £14.99, which
tied me in for another year, which ends about now.

Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

There's still  a limited time offer so that you get your 10GB broadband and Home Phone service for just £5.50 for the first 3 months and £19.50 after that too

Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

Gel are you sure you are on BBYW 1, as that is £9.99 for 2GB,  BBYW2 is £14.99 for 15 GB, the legacy Broad Band is £14.99 with 2G, but has different service hours, Free Midnight to 1600,  BBYW is only Midnight to 0800,  if you regrade to BBYW1 up to End jan, the allowance will be 10G for ever(or they change the rules) and will cost £9.75 with reduced VAT
