Re: Migration Query

Hi James,
If you lived nearer I would buy you a pint..!
I would say that now the clicking noise has gone we can turn interleaving back off, like you say lets see how it goes over the weekend first.....
I have just done a BT speed test and upload is still low....do we know if this has been uncapped yet?

Re: Migration Query

I'd keep interleaving on for at least a week to make sure things are stable. That way if problems return when interleaving is turned off you will know for sure that your line needs interleaving.

Re: Migration Query

Thanks Jelv,
My thinking is that it was most likely the clicking noise that caused the error seconds and high latency, since I cleaned to connector contacts the noise has gone and ping times have come down....
It would be interesting to see what its like now with interleaving turned off, now that the clicking noise has gone........

Re: Migration Query

Upstream on your line is technically uncapped Jim - It may be that it'll improves once BT realise your line is happier.
Absolutely certain that it was the clicking on your line - good job with that.
Don't worry about the pint, I'll just tell my boss you said that he had to get me one Tongue

Re: Migration Query

Hi James,
Thanks for your phone call just now......
As you could hear the line is very clear now.....
As you say lets see what happens as the BT equipment should realise at some point the line is fine now....
Many thanks to you and all the other plusnet staff that have helped with all of this, especially Adam.......
Tell your boss to get them all and yourself a very large beer or two........enjoy!
All we need now is an England win tonight.......

Re: Migration Query

The ping times went up a bit when the football was on today......
But since then it appears to be improving again......

That's a really good ping for an interleaved line...

Re: Migration Query

Hi James / Adam,
Been busy this week so just had chance to check current status.....
Download seems odd, erratic and not getting throughput that I should get, so did a BT speed test and despite my router not loosing sync and had no discons for 166 hrs (since 17th June) my profile has gone down from 3000k to 2000k.....but according to the BT speed test I just done it says my download speed is 2913 which it cannot be with a profile of 2000k......so something is clearly not right......
