Re: Migration Query

No problem,
I'm sorry I haven't been able to give this quite as much attention today, however I'm waiting for a call back from the team leader within the next 10 minutes as they've been discussing this case with Open reach engineer throughout today. I'll update you again before 5pm to let you know where things can go from here.

Re: Migration Query

To keep this as concise and as uncomplicated as possible, an experienced transmission engineer (who operates only at the exchange) has been booked to visit the exchange tomorrow morning as it would appear that due to work done by the engineer on the 28th your line was not terminated on to the best quality copper pairs available. The engineer tomorrow is to perform a full pair quality check and an inspection of the line card you are currently on too.
The team leader at wholesale who has investigated this today is to provide me with detailed notes from all the engineering work carried out during the course of this fault tomorrow as well and has handed that and the history of this issue to their manager. They will then pass this to the high level escalations team in the morning. Once a response has been given by HLE I will be in a position to get our BT account manager involved.

Re: Migration Query

Thanks Adam,
Just to make it clear, if tomorrow a BT engineer phones me or turns up at my doorstep as before with no knowledge or history of the problem I will just tell them to talk to BT wholesale, I am not going to explain the history for the umpteenth time and I am not prepared to go over all that again of them starting from scratch at my house, I will not be letting them into my house until I am assured that all the work has been done first.....
I don't believe what BT told you will happen tomorrow as that has been the case with all the engineer involvements so far, 5 x in total and a 100% record of not doing as you told me they would.....

Hi Adam,
Doesn't appear anything has happened so far or my router would have reported downtime in the log file...
There was a knock at my door at 8.15am this morning, perhaps this was BT?...the odds are it was and as usual they turn up here to start with despite what you tell me....
Can you check what the status is?...or this will be another failed attempt and wasted time to fix the problem....ta

Re: Migration Query

I'm looking into what's happening right now and I shall report back to you soon.
Please bear in mind that no specific time frame has been given today for the completion of the afore mentioned work at the exchange which was scheduled to go ahead this morning. No one was booked to visit you today either.

Re: Migration Query

You said that the transmission guy was booked to do the work this morning, so a time frame has been set, for at least when the work should start and it hasn't , so what you on about?...
Don't tell me one thing and then try and make out its something else.....
Sounds like another BT balls up......
What the hell is going on???

Re: Migration Query

I need to make it clear that I'm not contradicting myself and have no intentions of misleading you. I have previously commented that the transmission engineer has been booked to begin work this morning as per this comment:
Quote
an experienced transmission engineer (who operates only at the exchange) has been booked to visit the exchange tomorrow morning

This is not intended as a time frame for the completion of the work and was only meant to indicate that they will begin work in the morning so no ETA for completion has been specified to us or by us.
Work is under way still and I really cannot comment until this has completed, I will continue to apply the utmost urgency and pressure to our suppliers at the highest level possible in the meantime.

Re: Migration Query

I have just had confirmation that it was BT knocking on my door at 8.15am this morning....a neighbour saw them and just told me......
You want to explain that then as well???

Re: Migration Query

If there was any work under way of what you tell me they are doing then I wouldn't have any access to the internet as the work involved would disconnect me....
Rather than giving me excuses, just find out what is happening and why it all went wrong AGAIN!....and why BT turned up at me house this morning....!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Migration Query

I have just read this whole thread....words fail me...
Seems like for so many things these days, the world seems to be full of people who do not understand or cannot follow simple insturctions.
So many things in life today seem to fall into this category.

Re: Migration Query

I'm looking into this now, Some level of inspection is needed at the exchange. I am also gaining clarification on why someone tried to visit you this morning as you did not request this.
Downtime would be minimal for the work involved too so please do not assume anything until the facts are in.
I know you are angry and frustrated about this but I'm only trying to help.
I will comment again when I receive the next phone call from BT which is due within the next 2 hours, hopefully by then we will have a complete picture of today's events.

Re: Migration Query

The work you told me that should happen with the twisted pairs and line card mean some downtime and apart from 2 x very short discons no downtime has happened......
I am entitled to be extremely angry with the complete and utter farce, why should you have to wait 2 hours for BT to get back to you, get on to them NOW and make their life a misery like you are doing to mine!!!!!!!!

Re: Migration Query

As its now Friday I have spent another week of my time with this farce situation and all what will happen is that later on today I will get lame excuses of why its all gone wrong again.....
I want at least a further few months free broadband for this latest upset you have caused me.....in fact its getting to the point where you couldnt pay me enough money for this joke service.....
