McAfee and Plusnet Assist

So you get McAfee and Plusnet Assist for free when you sign up with unlimited fibre.
Well McAfee is free for 2 months then you have to start paying for it. Having waited 7 weeks for Chipperfield's Circus to final get me broadband I'll pass up on my free week.
Maybe Plusnet should take a look at what Talktalk offer. You click a button and hey presto porn is blocked and its free, yes not some gimmick that last for a couple of weeks.
So Plusnet Assist. Well I have an Apple Mac so that rules me out straight away. Still I suppose I can go around and borrow my dad's computer which I bought for him in 2002. That has XP on it .
Plusnet we'll do you proud,  if you don't use a mac, are not worried kids surfing porn, have 13 year old equipment and have countless hours to spend on the phone to there "call center"
I'm stuck with these idiots for 18 months now and that makes me feel bad that I could misjudge a company as backward as this.
My latters to Witch?, Simplifydigital, Broadband Genie and uSwitch grows by the day.
Incompetence that knows no bounds.

Re: McAfee and Plusnet Assist

Thank you for the post
It was only after checking what I thought was duff information about Plusnet Protect that I find with all the new products it is only free for 3 months then £2 per month
Of course it may be that the website is screwed but I have no idea whether that is the case
EDIT There is also the possibility I need to get some new glasses - unfortunately confirmed

Re: McAfee and Plusnet Assist

Hi flexo1966,
Welcome to Plusnet. I'm sorry to hear about the problems you've had with the installation, I can see that my colleague Adam is dealing with that for you.
In regards to Plusnet Protect (McAfee), it's free on Unlimited Fibre Extra (Which you currently have) and on the Unlimited Fibre it's £2 per month after three billing months (This starts when your broadband is active). Unlimited Fibre is the equivalent to our legacy essentials package and most add ons weren't included as standard.

Re: McAfee and Plusnet Assist

I would like Plusnet Assist please. I"m sorry I only have an Apple Mac computer.
Could plusnet please send me 13 year old computer with XP on so I can use this this service please.
I have been trying to contact you telephonically for the last 36 minutes and counting to resolve this issue.
While I'm waiting can I introduce to a word from the Oxford English Dictionary. The word is Infrastructure.
Noun.
The basic physical and organizational structures and facilities (e.g. buildings, roads, power supplies) needed for the operation of a society or enterprise:
"the social and economic infrastructure of a country"
Please feel free to pass to your managers

Re: McAfee and Plusnet Assist

Hi Steve,
Plusnet Assist I don't honestly think is the solution to what you're looking for.
It's aimed at perhaps less knowledgeable or novice users which I don't honestly think you are from speaking with you and reading your posts.

Whilst we recommend anything directly there are lots of easy to find solutions out there for this.
