I don't have any green smileys I can throw at that ctech500 I think he's on the WBC/21CN trial, I reckon he's come here to gloat - grrrrr.
Out of curiosity and for future reference what router is it ctech500? You are lucky you've got nice steady noise levels at that time of day.

I think the time has come to bite the bullet, what I want to do is reboot the router tomorrow and see what happens. I should be able to improve my Sync. Speed quite a bit if past experience is anything to go by, my IP Profile before this problem was 6500 kbps and at one time went to 7000 kbps and was rock solid, would go months without losing sync., what's your opinion?, Jack.

It's not my intention to gloat and I feel jinxed now because while I was responding to your last post and the power went out it was a local outage.
Needless to say I lost sync and my figures have changed
Anyway my router is the Netgear DG834GT I also use a shielded ADSL cable I can strongly recommend them for long lines
BTW as you probably know the routers can be tweaked which has certain advantages.
Lloyd

This is the opening graph for this evening, Jack.
Added second set, no more tonight.

Power up the router, if your target has actually gone to 6dB, hopefully you'll be syncing around 7200+, if it's still at 9dB, sync'll be more like 6500 I'd expect (monitoring with RS don't forget). If you want a 6.5M profile, we've got to get the sync speed at 7392 or a touch higher. I wouldn't deliberately go over the top, it may be asking for trouble.
Now run DMT. If you are syncing at ~7200 move the slider to 80%, if it's ~7100 then make it 70%; If you were down at ~6500 then move the slider to 30% and then BIte the Bullet - good luck. (If by some odd chance say you initially synced at ~6800 then go for 50%). BUT watch that noise margin, if you drive it too low, then the connection may drop and you might go back a step!. (PS. look out for a PM)
Post some stats in the morning before you go for it.
@Lloyd, well I was only pulling you leg a bit about the gloating, but that is bad luck, I'll PM you.
Edit: @Jack, if you don't want to Bite the Bullet that hard, post back and I'll suggest an alternative strategy.

What I intended to do was around midday switch off the router and after around an hour power up and see what happens without using DMT, if it resyncs with a SNRM of 6dB I'll be happy with that and just run normally without using DMT. Being just a simple soul all I really want is it running at a reasonable speed and without problems. I know that I can easily hit an IP Profile of 6500 as I ran with this comfortably before the drops started and assume that now it will do the same, how does this sound to you?, Jack.
PM answered.

Your proposal means you should likely sync ~7200 or if the target is still 9dB ~6500 and if the latter, you'll need to use DMT at 50% to get back up there.
You don't want your sync to remain below 6816 otherwise your profile will drop, ideally a tiny bit above your current speed will ensure DLM doesn't think things have deteriorated.

Everything went OK, synced slightly higher and been running smoothly since. I've included a before and after DMT graphs so you can compare but I can't see a problem.
Only thing is for some reason it took my phone out, no dial tone can't make or receive calls, but if I get a call the phone rings but I can't answer it, tried another phone and it works so no big problem (more BT rubbish!).
I'll leave it as it is for a while and see what happens but I'm pretty sure that at last it's fixed, the spikes are still there but as long as the don't cause problems I'm not worried, Jack.

glad everything seems OK. The only strange thing is that re-appearance of a low bits/tone this time at tone 55. It means the router has slightly less margin to work with. A bit early to comment on errors except so far OK. Post a DMT at night for a while and we'll keep a check on it.

Here's a screenshot from this evening, if you want to see any from later let me know, otherwise I'll post one from later tomorrow, Jack.

Yes a later evening one would be better.
Overall, errors are quite low although proportionally up slightly on what we've seen recently except those RS corrected errors which seem to have had a bit of a surge again. We'll have to keep an eye on that.
I see a bit of a pulse at ~1912 which was likely responsible for the burst of ~20 crc errors in the last but one 15min interval.
Looking at the noise level change ~1832 I'd guess someone from the same DP switching on BB and then rebooting at 1912. (Your next door neighbour possibly?) otherwise some form of interference perhaps.
