It always has to be done manually...it hasn't done it this time either...I just checked.
Although it has no problem updating on auto to reduce my profile...it just wont put it back up.
My new sync is 9.283...would someone please update my ip profile to match it...it has to be done manually.
(Edit: I just phoned in and got my profile set to 8.2Mb...no need to do it from here now)

Anyway...I just did a manual resync (early before people get up and start using electrical equipment, and street lights were off).
My SNR just before it was 6.7db down...and my new sync speed is 9.219.
Would one of the Plusnet team please nudge up my profile to match it...it never does it automatically and I always have to ask...thanks.

Does -
1) The profile not change properly at the BT exchange ?
2) The profile update not arrive from the BT exchange ?
3) The Plusnet update script not see or process the update ?
4) The Plusnet update script deems the change too small to bother with ?
5) Plusnet love doing manual profile updates every day and can't wait for Glenn's daily requests ?
6) The system is working properly and you just like winding Glenn up ?

@ purleigh --- Very good questions there, I'd be interested to see the answers too.

- No, that's definitely happening from checking the profile updates on the site we have access to.
2) The profile update not arrive from the BT exchange ?
- Last two automated updates on his account happened on the 29th July (drop from 8200 to 8100) and then again yesterday (drop from 8100 to 7600). The last time the automated update *increased* the speed was on the 2nd May, from 8200 to 8300.
3) The Plusnet update script not see or process the update ?
- Given the above I'd say both are happening.
4) The Plusnet update script deems the change too small to bother with ?
- The changes happen in 100kb/s increments (or decrements if it happens that way), as we're seeing changes by that amount I'd say it's not the case.
5) Plusnet love doing manual profile updates every day and can't wait for Glenn's daily requests ?
6) The system is working properly and you just like winding Glenn up ?
- You sure that's not vice versa? From what I can see updates are happening fine, though it appears 'properly' is subjective

Only once has my profile moved up automatically...as you stated it was back in May.
All other times it hasn't updated when my sync increases (I even left it for a week once to see if it would but it didn't)....it only updates automatically when my sync drops.
Why is that I wonder ?...there's a thread in here on this very issue...that peoples profiles don't go up automatically.
I wish it worked as it should...but it doesn't...I need my profile to be at least 8.1Mb..if it goes just under that I really notice it while browsing/downloading/streaming...hence me having to ask for it to be nudged up.

For the last number of weeks the DLM has been acting bloomin crazy...lowering my sync speed for no reason I can fathom, maybe once it reset my SNRM to 6db cos it dropped too low.
Anyway, I used to always have a Plusnet Line Speed of 8.3Mb, that was before I had my upload speed uncapped and ever since it's never got back to 8.3Mb.
I've even bought and installed a high quality filter which halved my errors and yet I can't get it back to 8.3Mb...the highest I can get it to is 8.1Mb.
The coclusion I have come to is this...it is either gateway hopping which DLM doesn't like (although I deliberately haven't gateway hopped for weeks to see if things improved) or it's the upload speed uncap that's causing this.
I know you'll say it isn't the upload uncap, but others have seen their line have problems after uncapping...so I need to have my upload speed uncap undone or put back to whatever it was before it was uncapped on my Unlimited 21CN ADSL2+ please.
Thank you

(a) not improve your downstream
and/or
(b) make the "feel" of web pages seem slower
and/or
(c) all of the above
You really aren't going to notice a difference between 8.1 and 8.3 or even 7.9 and 8.3, honest. I've gone from 16.x to 14.4 or so since my SNR was set to 6dB from 3dB, and in practical use the loss of 2.5Mb of downstream synch hasn't made a blind bit of difference.

@ jelv....That's my point tho...it doesn't feel faster, I really notice the difference while browsing and file downloading when my Plusnet Line Speed drops from 8.1Mb to 7.9Mb...file download speeds are less and browsing is noticeably slower.
Before my upload speed was uncapped I had a Plusnet Line Speed of 8.3Mb and I was happy with it...browsing and downloading was noticeably faster...ever since 8.1Mb is the highest I can get.
I've come to the conclusion that it's the upload uncap that's responsible....I don't see how it can be anything else...for those that have followed my thread it's certainly worth a try to see if that is the reason.
So I would like someone from Plusnet to undo my upload uncap...I need to find out if it's been the cause.

My sync has fallen to 8.867, but at that time of night I'm not surprised, what has surprised me is my upstream SNRM is 24db while downstream SNRM is normal at 6.1db
I'll try a manual resync using Anotherone's disconnect method when it gets light and street lights are off before most people get up this morning to see if I can get it a better sync and get that SNRM normalised.
