I don't think the brightness of the light will make any difference on the 585. You should only worry if that turns red.

Re: How Long Does It Take !!!!! Ticket No30495258

hello all @ plusnet hope you had a good christmas. Re the above about resetting the  SNR when mand started the reset the SNR went down to 6 but through out the 10 day period it has gone back up to 15 and stayed there. Why did it go as low as 6 and why has it stopped @15 ?

Re: How Long Does It Take !!!!! Ticket No30495258

6 is the default setting.
Because of either disconnections or excessive errors the BT equipment has pushed your target up 3db at a time to try and find a level at which the line performs acceptably.
If you cure the cause of the errors or disconnections it will fall again.

Is your router in the master socket or an extension now?
Have you used the quiet line test to check if the noise has returned on the line?

I've just checked your account, but there isn't an open ticket nor has there been one since October?
Your profile on our side and BT's side is now set at 1750, which should give speedtest results near 1500. It's worth keeping in mind that the linechecker results which said 2.5Mb-3Mb aren't a minimum expectation, but an estimate based on the length of your line.

Re: How Long Does It Take !!!!! Ticket No30495258

Morning Chris
No there is no open ticket 'cos no action was taken on the ticket and the help i have been gettting is from this forum by yourself, mand & james, so i  was under the impression this was the way to get it sorted as reading other post it seems if you post on rant & raves something gets done. Sorry if i have been getting the wrong impression of how things are done. After all of what looks to me like wasted time by me and your team to get a speed of what is quoted  and what i believe i should be getting are you saying i am getting the max speed available ?
If this is so and i get an independant broadband expert to check this out and get a different story what happens then ?

Re: How Long Does It Take !!!!! Ticket No30495258

Hi,
I think the next step would be for us to request a reset of your target SNR as you've checked all your internal wiring and that doesn't appear to be causing any issues. This reset effectively starts your 10 day training period again and allows the line to recalculate the best values possible.
Let me know if you've like me to do this and I'll request it this afternoon.
We normally asked for a fault ticket to be open on an account so we can keep easy track of everything that's been going on and so our faults team can actively investigate, just posting on the forums means our faults team are unlikely to ever see your issue.

Re: How Long Does It Take !!!!! Ticket No30495258

Chris thanks for the reply, we have reset the snr on the 14th, as per previous posts, when this was reset the noise was 6db for the first couple of days then went back to 16, do you think it will make any difference if iti is done again ? and also i have read on some post that you should not turn the router off while on the 10 day reset !

Re: How Long Does It Take !!!!! Ticket No30495258

If you've already had the SNR reset and it's then increased again then that points to something causing excess noise on the line.
Going over the previous replies to this thread you have said that you tried the socket behind the master socket, is that where you are still plugged in? If not can you plug it back in there and let me know so I can run a quick line test to see if anything changes?

Re: How Long Does It Take !!!!! Ticket No30495258

Well the attenuation and sync are still the same, the rest of the stats are similar too so it's not making a huge amount of difference. I'll push your fault ticket through and see what our faults guys make of it.
