. The issues were impacting our ability to get the status up.

Why not host your service status messages on a different ISP?  At least you'd be able to post status messages when your network gums up.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

"24 hr support has gone"
wtf when did this happen
its like the ticket support and live chat
i kept telling them the ticket support was beyond bad as i could never find it easily, and then they tell me it was replaced by live chat which just like the ticket support i can never find

Re: DNS servers failing

I like live chat - far better than waiting on the phone call for over 50 minutes! I rather live chat stay there Smiley

Problems started some 9 hours ago here.
ZERO response from Plusnet until recently.
Taking down residential overnight support = BIG mistake
But Business support would have been in, and must have known something was wrong, yet no posts anywhere. Not service status, this forum, or Facebook, all of which were accessible to us throughout.
And we are paying MORE this year for Plusnet residential, and yet getting less support. This is the sort of behaviour I would expect from BT or Orange, but not from Plusnet.
Done us proud?? NOT THIS TIME   Angry Angry Angry

I believe Plus Net is owned by BT.......

Re: DNS servers failing

I earlier received this email from PlusNet:

Service: Other
Posted: Thu, Sep 10 2015 at 09:27:02
Subject: Website and connectivity issues
Our website and internal systems are currently experiencing issues.
In addition, some customers may have trouble connecting to the internet.
If you find you are affected by this please reboot your router in the first instance.
Our engineers are investigating alongside our suppliers, and once we have more information, we'll provide a further update.
Apologies for the inconvenience caused.
Kind regards,

Would it not have been possible to give a more informative explanation, referring to this topic at least so that people might understand better what the problem is and how they can adjust their settings to get round it? Rather than just leaving everyone just reading that email in the dark? Some people might never visit these forums.
The standard response whenever one communicates with PlusNet the standard answer seems to be "reboot your router" - but that's not the solution here.

Re: DNS servers failing

It's down for Plusnet/non-Plusnet connections.
But is there something you urgently need from the portal?

Such a persistent investigator and defender on behalf of folks that love us back! Must be very hard to do it for free! Grin

It was a serious point if there are peering issues or internal issues just affecting the Plusnet site.
