After a few days of excitement about my connection speeds, the day came. At just before 10 this morning my old 'net went off in preparation for the fibre to come on-line. At 3pm I was miffed enough to call and was told ".. it should be on soon...". I snapped at 5pm. I was then told "... there's a fault but it's not at your end. We'll get an engineer to you (why? You admitted it's not at my end), We'll phone you when we have an appointment....".
For a company that sells its self purely on the back of helpful and knowledgeable staff, it's woeful.
I'm within the timeslot to cancel, I think I might...

you've quickly found out that that is just "marketing speak" and is far from the truth unfortunately.
however if the fault in the the "BT" network then it'll still be there no matter what ISP you go to, as it'll need fixed regardless.
you'll get the usual "we're sorry we didn't communicate better" response form the usual plusnet staff in here eventually.
a quick search will show that this repsonse is often used (too often).

From now on, I'm going to point and laugh when that mookle appears in an ad and waffles on about "We'll do you proud".... doesn't need that last word, really.

Sorry to hear you're experiencing a fault with your fibre service
It looks like an engineer went out this morning and rectified the problem less than 24 hours later.
