A report released by uSwitch today has highlighted the rising cost of technical support for broadband users in the UK. Consumers spend over £34 million per year calling broadband helplines, on top of the £2.8 billion spent on their broadband service.
The worst offenders appear to be Orange with their 'starter' customers paying up to £22 to resolve a single issue, with call costs of 50p per minute.
PlusNet scored favourably with the uSwitch team and are described as offering "an exemplary 4.5p off-peak flat rate for the first 60 minutes of any technical support call"
