Re: Upgrading to WiFi 7

@Surfer Give us the error log anyway, please.

As to Whatsapp, do Android devices not have a tablet version - Apple certainly do?

Re: Upgrading to WiFi 7

A quick scan through showed that a neighbour was coming up as logging in or have I got that wrong?

Re: Upgrading to WiFi 7

It looks like your connection is currently OK.

What is connected to Ethernet port #3, as that appears to be having issues remaining connected?

Re: Upgrading to WiFi 7

Our previous router was giving us issues and the technician exchanged it.  The current router was installed a a couple of months ago so not sure  about earlier entries.  We do not have Discovery channel if that is what it is.  I saw this;

14:25:25, 16 Nov. Lan IPv6 Neighbour

Discovery

Re: Upgrading to WiFi 7

That's nothing to do with your neighbours or the Discovery channel! . Its totally normal, its devices on your network trying to discover IPV6 addresses of other devices see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neighbor_Discovery_Protocol

Re: Upgrading to WiFi 7

Ah, those 'DISCOVERY' entries.  No, those are internal entries in the router itself, and nothing to be concerned about.

The only 'strange entries recently are those referring to Ethernet port 3.

@Surfer

Can you recall date/time when you thought the Hub went dead? The event log has not been cleared.

"03:50:54,",11,Nov.,Wire,Lan,Port,3,"down,",Speed,10,Mbps,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
"03:50:54,",11,Nov.,LAN,[DEL],ARP,192.168.1.102,with,98:f7:81:ad:7c:8e,from,br0,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
"03:50:33,",11,Nov.,Receive,a,DHCP,request,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
"03:50:31,",11,Nov.,DHCP,device,Connected:,"192.168.1.102,","98:f7:81:ad:7c:8e,",unknown,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
"03:50:30,",11,Nov.,LAN,[ADD],ARP,192.168.1.102,with,98:f7:81:ad:7c:8e,from,br0(eth2),,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
"03:50:30,",11,Nov.,ARP,[add],br0(eth2),192.168.1.102,98:f7:81:ad:7c:8e,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
"03:50:30,",11,Nov.,A,device,connected,to,Ethernet,port,3,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The device on port 3 is 192.168.1.102 with MAC address 98:f7:81:ad:7c:8e, this address is manufacturer Commscope, do you have any router or wifi access point connected to the Hub?

When I looked up that MAC address earlier, I got a different manufacturer, but concur that it is likely a networking device.

.

The MAC address 98:f7:81:ad:7c:8e has the Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI) prefix 98:f7:81, which is registered to ARRIS International Limited (formerly known as Arris Group, Inc.). ARRIS is a telecommunications company that manufactures networking and connectivity devices, such as cable modems, routers, gateways, set-top boxes, and other broadband equipment. Without additional context (e.g., the device's behavior or network logs), the exact model can't be pinpointed, but it is almost certainly one of these types of home or consumer networking devices.

Re: Upgrading to WiFi 7

@MaxSync

Gemini AI gives this answer for that MAC (other AI are available)

ARRIS is now a brand name used by CommScope, particularly for the consumer and service provider equipment like cable modems, gateways, and set-top boxes.

Re: Upgrading to WiFi 7

The router is on top of a tall cabinet and not easy to access.  Port three is to the Freesat box.  Port two connected to the main TV.
