Technicolor Router - 4G Dongle

Hi Everyone,

I’m just after a little help if possible. I have a Technicolor router that has been provided.

My broadband line is broken at the moment so was told I could connect a 4G dongle to the router to get internet access. I have an unlocked 4G dongle and EE sim. This works connected directly to my laptop. But doesn’t when connected to the router …

I can see the mobile tile on the admin page saying that it is connected and using the correct dongle profile.

I just don’t get any internet access.

Has anyone used a dongle in this way? I assumed it would be plug and play.

Thanks,

@hodgey87  Welcome, but I can't imagine there's many people out who can remember using the Technicolor TG582 , let alone with a mobile dongle ....

Did it ever support 4g dongles ? I remember see a list of supported 3g ones many years ago

I found this https://support.aa.net.uk/Router_-_TG582N_-_USB_port

Edit: Not sure if it's of any use, this might be

I don't recall PN ever supplying those.

How did you acquire it ?

Hi,

I’m not sure to be honest. It was already in the house so just re-used it.

Ah! OK I think they were supplied by Shell at one point, don't know if they've got a forum, and ISTR  there was some info on the A & A site.

Re: Technicolor Router - 4G Dongle

Cheers, thanks for the reply.

I might try a different sim when I get back to see if it might be an EE issue.

It all looks ok on the admin Interface.
