Re: TPLink Acher VR1210v

After a quick look, I would say yes - it claims to have both ADSL and VDSL capabilities.

Re: TPLink Acher VR1210v

@ncfc-yellows welcome to the forum

Yes it will support both FTTC (VSDL) and Full Fibre in Wireless Router Mode, but it is only a WiFi 5 router so not really the best if you go for Full Fibre 900/100 your speeds will be limited, but fine for Full Fibre up to 500 Mbps.

You could look at a TP-Link Archer VX1800v AX1800Mbps Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Gigabit VDSL/ADSL Modem Router, 1201 Mbps/5 GHz, 574 Mbps/2.4 GHz  which is WiFi 6.

Do you currently have a plusnet Hub two? This can be setup as a modem only device (bridge mode) so you could look to buy a router only device and connect it to the Hub two WAN port.

***CORRECTION*** with the router WAN port connection to one of the Hub's LAN port.

Re: TPLink Acher VR1210v

Thanks for your detailed reply, I currently am on a POP Telecom  (expires May) FTC 67MB connection, it has a phone line but not too worried about that as PN does not offer a phone line.

As for WIFI speed not too bothered about WIFI 5 as it's fast enough for me now and not sure when we might get full Fibre, as this house was built 80's and and is hard wired to socket inside no BT connection/grey cover outside!

Looking to use TPLink as it has some features I like like VPN, cloud connection etc..

@ncfc-yellows

What does the following say for your address?

www.openreach.co.uk

You could also have a look at the following. Full Fibre shows up as WBC FTTP.

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

If need be OpenReach will dig a trench to run the fibre cable.

Thanks Brian.
Right now, this property is in an area where we currently don't have any major plans to build.

So not at this point in time 🙄

Re: TPLink Acher VR1210v

So if and when we get fibre to premises I would need to use plusnet hub 2 as modem so 2 devices, I assume the full fibre connection cannot be directly plugged into the Archer vr1210v? Thanks.

Re: TPLink Acher VR1210v

@ncfc-yellows  You do not need the Hub 2, bridge (modem) mode is only for FTTC connections.

The router connects directly to the Openreach ONT which is effectively the modem.
