Router change not working

I’ve recently changed to a tp link AXE75 5400 to try and get some range. I can’t seem to connect it to the internet.

I’ve set the hub 2 to bridge mode. I’ve connected an Ethernet cable from the lan port of hub2 to the wan port of the new router. The broadband cable is plugging to the hub2

I’ve set connection type to PPPoe, tried to login using @plusdsl.net and password. This hasn’t worked.

I’ve tried using the VLAN settings mode bridge. Nothing. Then tried using custom VLAN settings with 101 as the VLAN name and 802.1q tag enabled.

None of this has worked. Any advice would be appreciated!

@Selinaoi

Can you set the VLAN to Off? This is handled by the Plusnet hub.  Are you using one of the three LAN ports on Plusnet  hub, NOT the one labelled WAN?

Re: Router change not working

I’ve tried both with VLAN enabled and with VLAN disabled. Neither have worked.

Yes, it’s in the LAN port on the hub and in the WAN port on the new router.

tried to login using @plusdsl.net and password.

you need your accountname in front of the @plusdsl.net

Re: Router change not working

Are you using auto complete for the username or password, sometimes a space is added to the end of the word.

Are you using the TP-Link Tether app or via a browser?

Re: Router change not working

No it doesn’t autocomplete anything but that’s a good thought.

I’ve been mostly using the tether app. I’ve tried the browser too but it seems to be the exact same

Re: Router change not working

That's good, confirms its connected in bridge mode. So it's looking like a problem in the router config, either the PPPoE or you've still got vlan active

Re: Router change not working

I think it is the router config but I’m not sure what.

I’ve tried setting it up from scratch with no VLAN but still no success.

PPPOE is definitely selected

Re: Router change not working

It’s definitely correct. I’ve even changed it as I read they can cause issues and still nothing has happened

Re: Router change not working

Does the AXE75 have any log information that might be useful ?

edit: managed to find a user guide (albeit US, the UK site doesnt have one to download!)

It does have a log, Advanced > System > System Log

alos check that the unit is in router mode Advanced > System > Operation Mode ( i dont see why it wouldn't be but... )
