@scubamad, on the topic of a possible future Gigaclear connection, I would point out that you can use your own router with Gigaclear (any router that has a WAN port should work - no configuration is required as the ONT will simply allocate the router an address). So if you decide to buy a competent router, just make sure it can cope with the Gb speeds available with Gigaclear. The Gigigaclear supplied router is OKish, but I prefer to use my own.
