Re: Mobile phones not connecting to Hub2 wifi

Can not think of any specific setting which would prevent mobile devices connecting, my Pixel7-pro works fine with the wireless defaults.

If your happy to I give the Hub a factory reset it using the hole found at the back.

Re: Mobile phones not connecting to Hub2 wifi

Dug out an old android phone I had.

Powered up.  No SIM card.

Connected to router wifi and asked for password.  Put password in.  Password seems to be accepted but refused connection to the wifi.  When I try to reconnect it takes a millisecond after I put the password in before the router refuses connection.

Obtaining IP address......

Stays like that for a few seconds then just reverts back to the network being "saved"

The router does not like phones connecting to the wifi for what ever reason.  I'm sitting here, on my macbook, connected to the router, via wifi, typing this but no phones allowed.

I think I will try this next.  Probably early evening.  Can't do any harm.......I hope.....😄

Totally confused.😖 I'd try @Dan_the_Van 's 'reboot Hub' suggestion and see if that works - nothing to lose.

Re: Mobile phones not connecting to Hub2 wifi

I wonder if somehow, Mac Address filtering has accidentally been set on, so the Hub is rejecting connections from unknown devices.

I think the setting is in the Advanced wireless settings - > Mac filtering. Make sure its set to None.

Re: Mobile phones not connecting to Hub2 wifi

Thanks, @MisterW . Never having used any of the PN Hubs in anger, I wouldn't have thought of that.

Re: Mobile phones not connecting to Hub2 wifi

Couldn't find any reference to MAC filtering anywhere.

Did a factory reset and mobiles can now connect.

Absolutely no idea why but the MAC filtering is a good bet.

Re: Mobile phones not connecting to Hub2 wifi

Glad you've sorted that. Now all we need is for your drops to stop and your connection speed to recover.

Re: Mobile phones not connecting to Hub2 wifi

Spoke too soon.
MacBook can't connect either via WiFi or hard wire ethernet cable.

How do I request a new router?

Re: Mobile phones not connecting to Hub2 wifi

I'm a little confused as to why you keep blaming the router, but even more confused as to why the Macbook is now misbehaving - especially as to why it won't connect by Ethernet.

Re: Mobile phones not connecting to Hub2 wifi

OK - maybe the Hub is at fault - how old is it?

Re: Mobile phones not connecting to Hub2 wifi

Another thought. Has the engineer been to sort your speed issue out? And do you know how to export and attach your error log to a post - that would be very informative?

Re: Mobile phones not connecting to Hub2 wifi

No engineer appeared as yet .

Think I'll wait for the engineer to appear and then if he fixes a problem sees if this issue goes away. If not then I can progress further.

My suspicion is a new router will be required.

Re: Mobile phones not connecting to Hub2 wifi

My suspicion, based on around 50 years of computer experience, is that your drops are actually causing these issues - you have oviously got a connection now, unless of course you are using mobile data?
